Nato a Perugia nel 1970, sono un ingegnere elettronico. L’Arte, quindi, non è il mio lavoro principale, ma pura passione.
Amo da sempre l’arte visiva in tutte le sue espressioni, anche se la fotografia è quella che coltivo fin da piccolo e che mi ha permesso di ottenere visibilità e riconoscimenti nazionali ed internazionali.
Negli anni, la continua ricerca e curiosità hanno maturato il mio stile, portandomi ad ampliare l'interesse anche ad altre forme artistiche, come la pittura.
Alle Scuole Medie già studiavo la reflex e scattavo con una compattina di plastica ricevuta in dono da mio padre, dal quale ho appreso anche i primi rudimenti di tecnica e composizione.
A partire dall’adolescenza iniziai il mio percorso formativo da autodidatta, studiando i lavori di fotografi importanti. Dopo i primi anni di semplici foto ricordo, passai a scattare in modo più “consapevole” dai 18 anni in poi, quando ricevetti la mia prima reflex: una Practica MTL5B equipaggiata con uno splendido obiettivo Pentacon 50mm f1.8, che ancora possiedo.
Rimasto colpito dai lavori e dalla tecnica del grande Ansel Adams, il mio primo approccio fu la fotografia paesaggistica, in diapositiva e in negativo bianco e nero. Non possedevo una camera oscura , ma potei sfruttare qualche volta l’attrezzatura presente nella scuola di mio padre.
Il mio percorso artistico è poi passato per lo still life, la foto naturalistica e, più di recente l’astratto, il concettuale e l’arte moderna in genere.
Da diversi anni ho la fortuna di condividere la mia passione e, quindi il tempo libero, con mia moglie Elena, anch’essa artista fotografa. Insieme abbiamo realizzato diversi lavori a quattro mani.
Dal 2006 ho iniziato un percorso all’interno delle associazioni fotografiche, iscrivendomi alla UIF (Unione Italiana Fotoamatori). Dal 2015 al 2019 sono stato anche membro della GPU (Global Photographic Union).
Utilizzo fotocamere Pentax, Practica e Fuji con obiettivi Pentax, Pentacon, Sigma, Tamron, Fuji e russi. Ho varie lunghezze focali, ma il mio preferito resta sempre il 50mm. Possiedo anche una macchina biottica medio formato Yashica MAT-124G. Per molti sembrerà “un’eresia”, ma ultimamente ho rivolto l’attenzione anche alle fotocamere presenti nei cellulari e tablet.
Considero la fotografia un mezzo per esprimere pensieri ed emozioni. Sono un osservatore ed un ascoltatore, e siccome non amo molto chiaccherare, lascio che a parlare siano le mie opere.
Per me non è importante l’attrezzatura e/o la tecnica che si utilizza, ma esclusivamente il risultato finale: l’opera e il suo messaggio intrinseco.
Born in Perugia in 1970, I am an electronic engineer. Therefore, Art is not my main job, but pure passion.
I always love visual art in all its expressions, even if photography is the one I've been cultivating since I was young and that has allowed me to gain national and international visibility and awards.
Over the years, the continuous research and curiosity have matured my style, leading me to expand the interest also to other artistic forms, such as painting.
Already during Middle School, I was studying SLR camera and I was shoting with a plastic compact camera a gift from my father, from whom I also learned the first rudiments of technique and composition.
Starting from adolescence, I began my self-taught training course, studying the works of important photographers. After the first few years of simple souvenir photos, I started to shoot in a more "conscious" way when I was 18 and I received my first reflex: a Practica MTL5B equipped with a splendid Pentacon lens 50mm f1.8, which I still have.
Dazzled by the great Ansel Adams technique and work, my first approach was landscape photography, in slide and negative black and white. I didn’t have a darkroom, but sometimes I could use the equipment at my father’s school.
My artistic career then passed through the still life, the naturalistic photo and, more recently, the abstract, the conceptual and modern art in general.
For several years now, I have had the fortune of sharing my passion and thus free time with my wife Elena, also an artist photographer. Together we created several four-handed works.
Since 2006 I started a path within the photographic associations, enrolling at UIF (Photo amateur Italian Union). From 2015 to 2019 I was also a member of the GPU (Global Photographic Union).
I use Pentax, Practica and Fuji cameras with Pentax, Pentacon, Sigma, Tamron, Fuji and russians lens. I have different focal lengths, but my favorite is still the 50mm. I also own a medium format TLR camera Yashica MAT-124G. For many it will seem "heresy", but I recently turned the attention to the cameras found on cell phones and tablets.
I consider photography as a medium for expressing thoughts and emotions. I am an observer and a listener, and since I do not love chatting, I let my works do the talking.
For me it is not important the equipment and/or the technique that is used, but exclusively the final result: the work and its intrinsic message.
